Operations Finance Manager

SUMMARY

The Operations Finance manager position is a high visibility role providing support to distribution center, logistics, product management and purchasing business leaders.  This position requires an ability to be adaptable to fast changing business/operational conditions, while providing timely and value added analysis in support of business decisions with the objective to drive cost savings, optimize spend and service levels. The ideal candidate will have experience in operations finance and be very familiar with key cost accounting concepts. They must possess the drive to create an impact in their relationship with cross functional teams.  The ideal candidate will possess the ability to frame and communicate business and operational issues and be proactive in recommending appropriate courses of action.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead inventory optimization efforts via analytics and cross-functional coordination in a multiple warehouse environment. 
  • Tasked with decreasing out of stock (lost revenue) events, decreasing inventory obsolescence and maintaining multiple warehouses properly stocked to drive high fulfillment rate at optimized transportation cost.
  • Drive a regular meeting to coordinate the efforts of the product management, sales, marketing & purchasing teams to quickly develop action plans for slow moving product.
  •  Support logistics manager through analytics including evaluation of transportation carrier performance, contract rate negotiations and carrier network optimization.
  • Carry out strategic analysis around fulfillment center capacity.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in operations finance through development of relevant KPI’s and ongoing performance measurement.
  • Play a major role in the in forecasting, annual budgeting and periodic variance reporting cycles.
  • Provide support into manufacturing and purchase activity variances with a view to helping management understand their impact on overall performance.
  • Ability to influence cross functionally and solve complex problems
  • Serve as liaison between executive team and the site operations on wide range of topics.
  • Perform any other tasks as needed.

Experience:

5 to 7 years of financial planning and supply chain analysis experience in a ecommerce environment or distribution environment, progressive experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and planning.  

Education:

Bachelors degree in Finance or Supply Chain, MBA strongly preferred

Other Skills and Abilities:

Minimum 8 years in Operations Finance and Cost Accounting

Advance use of Microsoft office products and Business Intelligence (Tableau) software with SQL preferred

Strong hands-on experience with SAP is preferred

Successful track record of effectively interfacing with distribution personnel to identify, support, and execute on value-added ideas to improve profitability

Attention to details, strong analytical background as it pertains to understanding and explaining supply chain variances

Strong Microsoft Excel skills required; Must be comfortable working with and analyzing large data files

 Excellent written and verbal skills required

Strong interpersonal skills required 

Proven ability to provide strategic direction for business units and internal customers 

Strong analytical skills

Highly organized with excellent time-management skills

Adapt in managing multiple tasks simultaneously

Ability to operate independently
